These supplements should contain a combination of caffeine, L-arginine and BCAA (amino acids). Caffeine promotes increased focus, intensity and energy in the gym. When enzymes in the body break down the amino acid called L-arginine and convert it to L-citruline, a gas called Nitric Oxide (NO) is formed. This gas helps increase blood flow, getting more nutrients to body organs and muscles. For bodybuilders, this is important knowledge to have.
Nitric Oxide is a vasodilator which when taken in the proper amounts, forces more blood into the muscles which in-turn, provides more nutrients to the muscles both during workouts and after, assisting in recovery.
Achieving a good pump is vital to new muscle growth because it helps deliver key muscle building nutrients, oxygen and amino acids to working muscles, effectively creating an optimal anabolic environment conducive to new growth.
Muscles need nutrients in order to grow properly. When there are adequate nutrients and the muscles are stimulated, muscle size increases. The more nutrients you have available for your muscles to use, the more muscle mass you will gain.
