For the longest time, I was a big fan of the old-school bodybuilders... the bodybuilders of the Golden Era from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. These guys had bodies that resembled Greek Gods!
And they achieved all of this without drugs or supplements! The symmetry and proportion was beautiful to look at. These guys had physiques that women just absolutely LOVED.
It's true! But show a woman a cover of a muscle mag from today's bodybuilders... and they'll probably turn their heads in disgust at these guys’ physiques.
And who can blame them...the humongous drug bloated waists of today's pro bodybuilders explains why even young men of today's generation are inspired by the men of this past generation.
Guys like Vince Gironda (pictured above), Frank Zane and Larry Scott Knew the secrets to achieving steroid-like results... without drugs.
The legend Vince Gironda once said, "I have found that man's logic and nature's logic are totally different. In other words, try breaking the rules and see what happens."
During his time, Vince Gironda was credited with turning out more Mr. America winners than any trainer in the sports history. True, Vince was perhaps one of the most, if not the most, controversial person ever in the field of bodybuilding. Some of his ideas on training, nutrition, and supplements were viewed as outright ridiculous. Yet years later, many leading authorities have confirmed much of what Vince stated thirty or so years ago and have proven much of what he said as fact today.
His methods were not understood by many. That's why I'd be willing to bet if he were alive today he would probably dedicate this article and these exercises to those of little faith and to the ones who resist change because they are the ones that need the most guidance.
