Blender bottle review

To build muscle, you need at least 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily. Protein consumption is the single most important factor of bodybuilding nutrition. Without enough protein, building muscle will be impossible.

With the hectic pace of life, it's hard to eat this much solid protein every day. This is where supplements such as whey protein shakes or meal replacements come in handy.

The most economical way to go is to use whey protein powder and mix your own protein shakes instead of buying the ready made shakes. To make your own you need a shaker or blender bottle.

I've used quite a few shaker bottles, and they've all sucked. Either they leaked, or where hard to clean, cracked easily, didn't mix well and you had to choke down nasty clumps of powder, or just plain wore out.

Now I really shouldn't get excited about a plastic bottle with a wire ball inside (I must be getting old) but this simple shaker works unbelievably well.

The lid seals tightly without the need for a rubber gasket or O-ring. This thing has never leaked - ever! And when opening the lid it's stays in place. The lid doesn't move while taking a drink.

The real genius of the blender bottle is the wire-mixing ball inside. The wire ball mixes my shakes thoroughly, and is made of surgical grade stainless steel.

The wire ball doesn't leave clumps of powder at the bottom of the bottle. Everything comes out well mixed, even peanut butter (believe it or not). I find that the blender bottle works best when putting wet ingredients in first then dry ingredients.

Even when you use a power blender you have to scrape the unmixed protein powder off the sides before drinking - not with the blender bottle.

This simple shaker blends all ingredients in as little as sixty seconds. It sounds like your shaking a can of spray paint. I mix protein drinks, scramble my eggs (holds one dozen eggs) and pancake batter and they all come out smooth and without lumps.

Clean up is easy...just rinse and it's ready to reuse. It's also dishwasher safe, capacity is 28 oz, and it's built to last.
