As the owner of a fitness website, I get plenty of requests to review products, and more often than not, I get free products to review. Some products I don't even bother to take the time to review because they simply are not worth it, but when the New Year started and I was looking to shed a few pounds, Ideal Shape contacted me and offered to send me a free container of their chocolate ideal shape shake.

How Ideal Shape Helps You Lose Weight

Most shakes only use fiber to fill you up, but it's rarely enough to get you to your next meal. Ideal Shape uses a unique blend of protein, fiber and the patented hunger-blocker Slendesta, an all-natural potato protein extract with no reported side effects. You won't find it in any other shake on the market.

Appetite Suppressant

As I mentioned above, Ideal Shape shakes use an appetite suppressant made from an all-natural potato protein extract. Found just under the skin of the potato, this extract stimulates an increased bodily release of cholecystokinin or CCK; CCK tells the brain that the body is full and satisfied.

Ideal Shape claims once you down a shake you won't be hungry for up to 3 hours as long as you drink 8oz of water along with it.

Water helps to activate the hunger blocker and keep you satisfied for longer.

What was my experience?

This protein shake kept me full for 3.5 hours. I timed it again the next day and again it was 3.5 hours almost to the minute!

Currently I have replaced one of 5-6 meals a day with the ideal shape shake. My results: I lost 6 lbs. in 10 days!

Taste

I was given a sample of the chocolate and I think it taste like a tootsie roll. It is really sweet though, but each serving has only 1g of sugar.

Mixability

Every tub of Ideal Shape protein powder comes with a blender bottle. Blender bottles work great (see my review here). I mixed the powder with milk and it mixed fine with no clumps. I even mixed it once without the wire wisk ball inside the bottle and it still mixed without clumping. Excellent!

Nutrients and Vitamins

For IdealShake to be an effective meal replacement, it must give your body what it needs to be healthy. Ideal shape shake has over 21 vitamins and minerals, with most around 50-80% of your daily requirements. Ideal shape shake is also gluten free and kosher as well.

Cons

Apparently some customers don’t like getting a blender bottle with every order. I guess after a while you will have plenty of bottles. The IdealShape website should give you an option of declining the blender bottle.
