Core muscle barbell torque exercise

by Barry C.

This is a tremendous full body exercise that will help develop an extremely strong core.

Place an olympic bar in a wall corner, or in the center hole of another olympic plate. Place a weight on the bar and hold it up at arms length.

Set your base a little wider than shoulder width and lean slightly forward into the weight. Rotate to your right as you start to lower the load down and outside your right knee. Your left heel will rise off the floor as you lower and your shoulders should follow your hands. Forcefully raise the weight back and up and over to the other side and repeat.

The farther you extend your arms, the tougher the exercise will be. You might just need to use the bar with no plates the first couple of times.
